About Us

It Takes a Village is a nonprofit organization that aims to provide a dynamic, inclusive platform for intellectual, cultural, personal growth and community development for young African and African diasporan minds, including but not limited to African-Americans, Afro-Latinos, & Afro-Caribbeans. The platform serves as a space for young Africans and African Diasporans to access resources, engage in educational programs, as well as participate in cultural and leadership development activities.

My name is Nneka Ijomah- Reynolds (PhD), but it’s fine to call me Dr. Neqi. It takes a village academy is born out of the passion to educate and impart on our youths for their personal, leadership and community advancement using rich African program.

Nnamdi Raphael Okoye III

I am Nnamdi Raphael Okoye III, a multi-faceted humanitarian with years of experience in childhood education, international relations, and biological sciences. As an aspiring medical doctor and entrepreneur, Nnamdi empowers upcoming generations in their personal pursuits of acquiring their true identities through leadership building and self- discovery education.

Asha Nyang’anyi

My name is Asha Nyang’anyi, a seasoned molecular biologist with nearly two decades of specialization in the field of cervical cancer technology. Her involvement with the African communities in the US has been extensive, supporting various cultural programs and holding leadership positions. Currently, she serves as Secretary of The Tanzanian Community in Washington DC, Maryland and Virgina.

Purpose

 To create a community platform for young Africans and African Diasporans to connect, learn, grow, and thrive holistically through education, mentorship, and cultural leadership
